Details: Join us for a special evening with best-selling author, librarian and action figure Nancy Pearl in conversation with Spokane novelist Sharma Shields. The 7 p.m. community forum is free but tickets are required. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis.
VIP reception: The Spokesman-Review hosts a VIP author reception starting at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $40 and includes a copy of Pearl's novel "George and Lizzie," a glass of wine at the Terra Blanca Winery tasting room (adjacent to the Spokesman-Review lobby), live music and a reserved seat for the 7 p.m. book talk. [Update: A handful of VIP tickets still are available.]
Books: Auntie's Bookstore in Spokane has copies of "George and Lizzie" at a 15 percent discount for Northwest Passages Book Club readers. Books also will be available for sale for signing during the event.
